PULSED ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD
Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF)
Induction of low frequency magnetic field (0-100Hz) generated by electric current, to influence the activity of cellular elements or substance. Electromagnetic field can increase ion exchanges and blood circulation, modify cellular permeability to produce anti-inflammatory action, increase action of osteoblasts and electrical activity in fracture sites. It is commonly used in treating pains in tendonitis, contractures, contusion, sprains and strains, rheumatic and degenerative inflammation, fractures and ulcers.
